How It Works

Spaced Repetition

Spaced repetition is a learning technique based on the spacing effect: reviewing material at increasing intervals strengthens long-term memory far more than cramming the night before. Each review session resets the forgetting curve at a higher baseline.

Session Distribution

This planner works backwards from each exam date. For each exam, review sessions are inserted at the configured intervals (e.g., 1 day, 3 days, 7 days before). When two exams share a session date, hours are summed and compared against your daily capacity to flag overloaded days.

Difficulty Settings
  • Easy: 1 hour per session; fewer review points needed.
  • Medium: 1.5 hours per session (or your custom value).
  • Hard: 2 hours per session; prioritized on overloaded days.
Presets
  • Standard: 1, 3, 7, 14 days before exam. Good for most subjects.
  • Aggressive: 1, 2, 4, 7, 14, 21 days. For high-stakes or dense material.
  • Light: 1, 7, 14 days. For familiar subjects or low-stakes assessments.
  • Custom: Enter your own intervals in days.
Tip: Start with the Standard preset, generate your schedule, and see if any days are overloaded. Switch to Light for easier subjects to free up capacity for harder ones.
